grandparents university
As part of Purdue University’s cherished tradition, Grandparents University invites alumni and their grandchildren to experience college life together through fun, educational programs. During my involvement with this project, I contributed to designing various materials that enhanced the overall event and left a lasting impression on both grandparents and grandchildren alike. From the print collateral to wayfinding signage, each material ensured that attendees could easily navigate the campus and participate in the wide array of educational activities. The challenge was to create designs that were both engaging for young learners and nostalgic for their grandparents, blending tradition with modern visuals.
iconogaphy
A key part of this project was developing custom iconography for each major and field trip offered at the event. These icons were designed to be easily recognizable, playful, and aligned with the academic nature of the experience. From science and engineering to the arts, each icon represented a specific learning opportunity and helped guide participants through the event schedule in a clear, visual manner.

signage
To ensure smooth navigation throughout the event, I also designed various types of signage, including A-frames and picket signs. These were strategically placed around campus to direct participants to workshops, field trips, and activity zones. The signage followed a consistent visual style, making it easy for attendees to feel oriented and confident as they moved from one event to another.
